One of the issues I spoke about in an earlier post was internal communication.
It’s something we’ve been discussing this a lot internally and so we’ve started taking tangible actions. I suspect, like many other things, that we’ll iterate quite a bit over the coming weeks and months. The key thing is that we are taking action and working on improving things.
So without further ado, meet the Blacknight internal staff newsletter:
One of our sales team volunteered to manage it, which means that it’ll actually get written and sent every week.
The content so far is pretty simple with a mix of “internal” vs “external” news ie. things that are specific to our staff like HR and events etc., that we are involved with as a company.
I wasn’t sure how well an email newsletter to staff would go down. While I suspected some people would actively read it and use it some of our staff had expressed clear dislike of emails, as they get so many of them already.
However I was pleasantly surprised by the data:
A 100% open rate? That’s not something you see every day!
Whether it’ll maintain that kind of open rate moving forward or not remains to be seen, but as long as a reasonable percentage of our staff are opening and reading it then it’s doing its job. Communicating.
